Optical magnification:

There are many different ways to approach magnification for low vision, including in your spectacles, a bioptic telescope mounted on your spectacles, or a hand-held magnifier. You may find that you need different magnification tools to solve different problems. We can help you find the best solution, and will make sure you get the correct power magnification. Our magnifiers are professional quality tools, and are much high quality (and potentially much more powerful) than the magnifiers you may find at a discount store. We promise that you will go home with the correct magnifier, saving you the trouble, wasted expense, and trial-and-error of trying to find the right one on your own.

Electronic magnification:

Closed-circuit television systems (CCTVs) use video technology to magnify printed materials, allowing you to read a newspaper, pay your bills, or even do your nails. The Envision Rehabilitation Center keeps many CCTVs in stock at all times, so you can select the one that is best for your needs. Portable CCTVs are battery-powered and can be easily carried in your purse or pocket for shopping, restaurant menus or other on-the-go reading.

Assistive technology:

The Envision Rehabilitation Center also offers assistive technology training, which can teach you to use adaptive hardware and software on your computer. We can identify the best adaptive technologies for your vision loss - including both magnification and synthesized screen reading software - and help you make the most of your computer - whether for your job or for your personal use. To learn more about assistive technology, please call us toll-free at 1-866-319-4646, or email us at rehab@envisionus.com.
